I found the new Liquid Matte design to make the Control Center difficult to read in iOS 26 Developer Beta 1. But it seems Apple has addressed this in the second beta, which is now available.
In the first beta, the “glassy” effect made everything underneath the Control Center too visible, which made the whole interface look cluttered. Compared to the first major beta released recently, the only main thing to notice in beta 2 is the control center behind the glass, which is now totally more transparent.
Take a look at this comparison slider:

In the second developer beta, some colors still slightly bleed through the Control Center buttons, which might be a bit confusing. But overall, In my opinion Apple is moving in the right direction here. I’m curious to see if the company will make more changes before the final release this fall.
As reported by 9to5Mac, the beta also includes a few other updates, including a fantastic new ringtone that serves as an alternative version of the current “Reflections” tone. It feels something out of an Ace Attorney game. I switched to it immediately.
If you’re interested in installing the developer beta for yourself, we have a little guide on how to go about it. If you do not wish to live life on the bleeding edge but still want a peek at what Apple is cooking, a public beta might grace our lives sometime next month.
