Apple’s newest iPhone software is live and ready to download. It follows on from the important previous update, iOS 18.2, which upgraded Apple’s intelligence experience and opened it to even more users worldwide.

And then there was the iOS 18.2 release, devoid of major niggles or troubles but filled with little ones-sudden and rapid drain in battery performance, Face ID stopping working as well as connectivity of Wi-Fi suddenly dropped-tended to get a little sorted way long than expected on post-update releases of iOS.

Now, iOS 18.2.1 is here, and thankfully, it arrived on the very day I had predicted. Here’s everything we know so far about the release.

Which iPhones Can Run iOS 18.2.1?

Like other versions of iOS 18, any iPhone that can run iOS 17 is compatible with iOS 18.2. This includes the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr (2018), and all subsequent models, including both second and third-generation iPhone SE models.

How to Get It

It’s pretty simple. Tap the Settings app, select General, then choose Software Update. After that, click on Download and Install, and let the software work its magic. This is a small update; it’s 511MB on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, so it should be available to you soon.

What’s Included in the Release

Apple

Since this is a small update, no new features were expected. Apple stated, “This update provides important bug fixes and is recommended for all users.”Note the absence of the words “security fix,” meaning this update isn’t focused on cybersecurity but on fixing things that weren’t working properly. Apple isn’t sharing what these issues might have been, but the lack of security means that users who don’t want to upgrade can feel more reassured, assuming they aren’t facing issues with their iPhones.

Also bear in mind that Apple underlines the update is recommended for all users, meaning these improvements are not only affecting Apple’s intelligence but all devices in general, not just the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and the four new models of the iPhone 16.
