Openai is Announced Some new productivity features for Chatgpt, adding direct integration with major cloud storage services and completing recording capabilities for business users.
AI chatboat can now connect to Google Drive, Dropbox, Onadrive, Box and Sharepoint, which can make users querry directly information from their stored documents and files. Case Examples include a financial analyst, in which CHATGPT is asked to draw data from the company report to generate the investment insight, or a marketing professional analyzing product presentations without leaving the Chatgpt interface.
Openai says that cloud integration respects existing organizational access controls, so the chatgpt can only reach the documents that are authorized to see it. The company says that data accessed through these connections won… to train its models for team, enterprise, and education customers.
Along with cloud connectivity, Chatgpt is also offering “record mode” to complete transcription and note-teching. Initially available to team users on MACOS, this feature captures audio and completes structured notes with summary, major points, action items and time-stamped quotes.
Unlike competitive solutions from zoom or perception, which requires BOT participation, the recording tool of the chat only hears through the device microphone. Users can then convert action items into canvas documents for follow -up work.
The update also includes the “Deep Research Connector” in Beta, which links to chat with external platforms such as the model reference protocol (MCP). This enables autonomous research combining internal company data with web information to produce comprehensive reports.
Cloud connectors are available to all paid CHATGPT users, while MCP supports are available to Pro, Team and Enterprise customers.
