A few hours ago, publisher Bethesda Softworks revealed The doom of that ID software has already reached 3 million players, which is the biggest launch in the franchise. For comparison, it was seven times faster than the previous entry, doom eternal, to achieve this milestone.

However, it should be noted that the eternal sport did not launch immediately like a dark era on the pass. Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda was completed in March 2021, while Doom Eternal was released about a year ago. It is always difficult to compare between sports in the same franchise when new available on Microsoft’s membership service, as it essentially sketes data.

Nevertheless, it seems that the reception has been overall positive. Pitty: Dark Edge is currently sitting on steam 86% on the average user review score. Here on WCCFTECH, resident Doom expert Chris Ray also gave 8.5/10 in his review:

So, all this is quite easily, doom: dark era is a good game – no, it is a very good game. I would suggest it to fans of style and those who want to have fun without the risk of transmitting anything through physiological fluids. There is a lot until we are talking about demon blood and courage. Door: dark edge is yet another success from ID software, and they can continue for a long time.

Qayamat: The Dark Edge is a rip-making funny ride that ruins some of the excesses of doom, which brings the gameplay closer to Doom (2016), while in twenty stages, a long, emotional, adds meat to the story in a long, emotional, campaign. Simply say, if you like doom and doom, you will like it, even if there are some minor misunderstandings.

In other news, Nvidia confirmed that the game will receive its path tracing update at some point in June. The patch will also add danoizing through the DLSS ray reconstruction of Nvidia.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Digital Foundry, Billy Khan of ID Software explained why do not be possible without dark age ray traching.
