Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be drastically thinner than previous models, and a new piece of retail marketing shows just how much of a difference that makes to the design.

The Galaxy Z Fold series has gotten thinner over the years, but Samsung’s efforts have paled in comparison to competitors like Oppo and Honor. Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to catch up in a big way, with a device that measures just 9mm when closed, and around 4.5mm when opened.

Now, we’re getting a better idea of what that will actually look like.

A new image posted to Reddit and “DogDrip” shows a promotional stand for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, something that will probably be used in a retail store or carrier shop, which showcases the foldable’s thin design. The Fold 7’s new design looks much thinner than Fold 6 in this stand, with even the hinge looking tiny compared to the previous generation. Of course, we’re seeing this in a giant marketing stand, so it’s hard to draw final conclusions. But if the real device looks like this, it seems we’re in for a treat.

Samsung has been teasing Galaxy Z Fold 7 as of late, with the company hinting at AI-infused cameras and this much thinner design. Leaks have also hinted at colors, “Qi2 Ready” charging, the wider display aspect ratio, and prices that may not be changing.

The full reveal is expected in early July.
