The iOS 26 has a long list of new features, some of which Apple highlighted today’s main event, and some of which were quietly added. We have rounded some small changes, but still useful changes that have been introduced in updates.
- Home bar – Home Bar which is to remind you that you can swipe to go to the home screen, most parts have been removed from the apps. When you open an app, it shows briefly, but then it disappears.
- Satellite weather – In IOS 26, you can get weather updates on a satellite connection when you do not have a cellular or Wi-Fi signal available. It does not seem live in beta yet, but it seems.
- Alarm – You can customize snooze length to your alarm.
- Quarrel – If your camera lens is dirty, then your iPhone can detect it and suggest that you clean it.
- Dictation – When you are fixing something using the dictation feature, now you can do magic if necessary.
- Messages – Now you can choose a partial text in a text message bubble instead of selecting the whole thing.
- Group book – Group chat has typing indicators, as well as a contact button if there is no one in the group text you don’t know.
- Message filtering – If you have the screen unknown sender option, then new filtering options are. You can allow transactions such as time sensitive alerts, personal messages, order receipts, or promotion from businesses or organizations. There are toggles for each category.
- blocked contacts – You can see a list of people you have blocked in the privacy and security section of the Settings app.
- Automatic payment – Now you can look and manage your autofil card in the wallet app. There are options for adding a new payment, or the details such as the expiration date for the existing payment method change.
- reminder – A reminder is the control center button.
- Note – You can export a note to a markdown file.
- Apple Music – Apple Music has an option to create a playlist folder.
- Files – In the file app, when you select browse, now you will see a list of folders with the option to tap it to expand the nested folders. Earlier, you had to tap in a fully folder to see what was in it.
- Late night mode – Under sounds and haptics in settings, Apple added “late night mode”.
- Microphone selection – In sounds and haptics, you can choose a microphone if you have a Bluetooth mic.
- Battery – Your iphone will tell you if you are using more batteries than normal at any point a day, and it flags the apps that are using more power. You can also see the time to charge in the battery section of the Settings app and on the lock screen.
- Stage manager – This is technically iPados 26, but old iPads can now use stage manager.
- Stop transparency – hate new glass look? There is an option to close it in accessibility settings with low transparency options.
- Background voice – There are many more background sounds such as airplane, roof rain, cool night, fire, and more.
As of now, only developers have access to an early version of IOS 26, but Apple plans to provide a public beta in July. IOS 26 will watch a public launch in September with new iPhones.
