While the Spotlight has recently been on the CarPlay Ultra, the regular version of the carplay is ready to achieve some promotion with iOS 26.

Apple will announce iOS 26 in WWDC 2025 next week, and the software update is expected to upgrade the carplay experience in at least two ways.

The first iOS 26 beta should be placed with the developers immediately after Apple’s keynote speaker, and the update will be released in September.

More carplay changes with iOS 26 will be likely – these are only known.

The iOS 26 is expected to have an app icon, menu, button and other elements with a sleeler, glass -like design feature.

Sound identity for children cry

Carplay sound identity
CarPlay received support for sound recognition with iOS18 last year. The accessibility feature can alert drivers or passengers who are deaf or difficult to listen to horn and sirens outside the vehicle, such as a police car, ambulance or fire truck.

Last month, Apple previewed the new accessibility features coming in iOS 26, including the expansion of sound recognition for the carplay. With updates, the feature will be able to provide a notice if it hears a crying child inside the vehicle.

Apple said that CarPlay will also get a big lesson option, which has been present on iPhones for a long time.
