Johnny Ive and Lauren Powell Jobs have given a rare joint interview financial TimesAddressing their cooperation, their concerns about the social influence of technology and mysterious hardware devices of OpenAII.

Now we know, clearly, that there are dark uses for some types of techniques. You can only see the study of teenage girls and anxiety in young people, and the rise of mental health needs, to understand that we have gone sideways. Certainly, technology was not designed for that result. But that is a result of sideways.
IVE agreed, accepting that innovations developed with the best intentions can also produce harmful consequences:
If you create something new, if you innovate, there will be unexpected results, and some will be amazing and some will be harmful. While some less positive results were inadvertently, I still feel the responsibility. And his expression is a determination to try and be useful.
Powell Jobs refused to comment on whether the OpenIE device would compete directly with Apple, and emphasized its constant relationship for the company:
I am still very close to the leadership team in Apple. They are really good people and I want them to be successful too.
The interview also touched extensive changes in silicon valley culture. IVE moved to the United States to join Apple in the 1990s, but said that the technical industry had lost its original objective:
