Serial leaker Sunny Dixon is back with today New image of some protective cases For Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro, and large camera hole is definitely a standout feature in the show.
The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are expected to introduce a major redesign of the rear camera bump, which replaces the traditional square module with a horizontal, rectangular bar that spreads behind the device. This new layout looks like a runway-style camera panel seen on the Google Pixel phone.
Apple’s iPhones have maintained the same front-faceing design language for many years, and the rear is one of the few regions for meaningful visual development. Depending on the CAD render and leaked parts, the updated bump retains the triangular triple-lens setup on the left, but now the lidar scanner, microphone, and flash are separated from the right, which creates a more symmetrical design.
It is not clear what is the rationale of Apple for the design shift, but it can allow for larger or more thermally skilled components, improve the spatial separation of the sensor for more accurate depth mapping, or simply continue to shrink the Apple Main logic board as a more efficient internal packaging.
The uniform color of the bump, which allegedly coincides with the rest of the chassis, suggests that Apple is targeting the design language in more integrated and visually more than thought. Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max with regular iPhone 17 and around mid-September to introduce an all-nine ultra-thunder iPhone 17 with air.
