The next major version of Macos, which is now dubbed “Macos 26”, is rumored to leave support for many old Intel-based Mac models which are currently compatible with Macos Sequoia.

According to persons familiar with the case quoted by AppleinsiderThe following Macs will not be supported by the next version of Macos:

These were the oldest supported by MacMacos Sequoia, and their omission in the construction of development shows that they are likely to be excluded from the official compatibility list of Macos 26.

This will mark the second year in a row that Apple has compressed support for Intel-based MACS, while mainly the Apple continues to provide complete facility to the silicone devices. The compatibility list of Macos 26 is expected to be as follows:

  • AMACBook Pro (2019 and later)
  • ‌IMAC) (2020 and later)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and later)
  • AMAC mini (M1 and later)
  • Mac Studio (All Models)
  • Macbook air (m1 and later)

The first developer of the Macos 26 is expected to exceed 17GB in beta size – about 2GB larger than the initial beta of themacos sequoiao. The update is expected to borrow heavy borrowings from the design language of Visionos with 3D transported materials and round window elements. Design changes are said to be the most important visual updates for Macos over the years.

Apple is rumored to lead the naming system used by its software platforms to continuously year-on-a-numerical heads. As a result, we are expecting the next major version of Macos that “Macos 16” will be “Macos 26” instead of.

The Macos 26 will officially be introduced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which starts from June 9, with the first developer Beeta expected to be released immediately after the main address. Public beta test is usually in July, with a complete public release in the decline.
