There are still about three months left until the launch of iOS 19, but there have already been many rumors surrounding the upcoming update. Below, we recap the rumors about iOS 19 so far.
Redesigned Camera App
Earlier this year, a leak reportedly revealed a redesigned Camera app coming with iOS 19. In January, Jon Prosser shared a video on his YouTube channel, Front Page Tech, showcasing what the new Camera app might look like, with the main change being a transparent menu for camera controls. Overall, the design of these menus resembles the software platform visionOS for Apple’s Vision Pro headset.

Compared to iOS 18, the camera’s viewfinder will appear larger. The app’s bottom section divides camera controls into photo and video categories.
The camera controls will include options for spatial video recording, enabling a timer for photos, and much more. According to the video, additional controls for video resolution and frame rates will pop up at the top of the screen as needed.
It’s unclear whether these rumored visionOS-like design changes will extend to other parts of the iOS 19 interface or Apple’s other built-in apps. There were previous rumors that iOS 18 would feature visionOS-like design changes, but that never happened. Maybe these changes were always intended for iOS 19.
ChatGPT-like Siri
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, iOS 19 will introduce a “more conversational Siri” powered by “more advanced large language models.” This would make Siri more like ChatGPT, allowing the assistant to handle “more sophisticated requests.” Apple is expected to preview the updated Siri during its iOS 19 announcement, but Gurman noted that it might not be available until the spring of 2026. This suggests that the feature could roll out as part of iOS 19.4 around March or April next year.
Meanwhile, iOS 18.2 added ChatGPT integration to Siri, and Google Gemini integration is expected to arrive in later updates. With iOS 18.4 or iOS 18.5, Siri will get updates like on-screen awareness, understanding of personal context, per-app control, and other improvements.

Phased Features
A large number of new features expected in iOS 19 will roll out in subsequent versions, from iOS 19.1 to iOS 19.4.

If this report is accurate, it will be the second consecutive year that Apple has not dropped support for any iPhone model with its major annual iOS release. According to Apple’s official information, OS 18 continues to support the same set of iPhone models as used by iOS 17. However, the support for specific iPhones, such as the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X, was already discontinued with iOS 17.
Timeline
The first iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 beta should be released in June during WWDC 2025, with the update likely arriving in September.
