The Galaxy A16 5G, the successor to the excellent Galaxy A15 5G, comes with a larger screen and enhanced durability. The Galaxy Fit lineup has also been refreshed for the first time in many years.

Samsung is kicking off the new year by launching two budget-friendly devices—the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone and the Galaxy Fit3 fitness tracker, which will be available in the U.S. on January 9 at $199.99 and $59.99, respectively.

The Galaxy A16 5G is an upgrade over the excellent Galaxy A15 5G, featuring several improvements. Compared to the A15’s 6.5-inch display, the A16 has a slightly larger 6.7-inch screen, although both devices have a 90Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. The camera setup remains the same, featuring a 50MP main lens, a 5MP ultra-wide, a 2MP macro, and a 13MP front-facing camera.

Powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1330 processor, the A16 is a step up from the A15’s MediaTek 6835. The device also has improved durability, with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The Galaxy A16 will receive six Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which is rare for a device at this price point.

After many years of no updates, Samsung has introduced a new Galaxy Fit. The Fit3 features a 1.6-inch display, which is 45% wider than the Fit2. Samsung claims that the device will last up to 13 days on a single charge. The Fit3 can track over 100 types of workouts, including heart rate and sleep patterns, along with blood oxygen levels. Coaching features for sleep and tracking of stress further arm users with even more ways to take care of themselves.

Like the Fit2, it has an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water. The difference is, though, this Fit3 exudes a more premium outlook due to its aluminum body, giving it a rather more high-end feel. Fit3 colors come in gray, pink, gold, and silver.

The Galaxy Fit3 isn’t particularly expensive on its own, but if you order it with the Galaxy A16 5G, Samsung will give you 50% off. The deal is good through February 9 or while supplies last.
