While the time limit of “some time towards the end of June” is coming quickly, a new report claims to estimate the impact on the price for hitting equipment with this tariff.
Korean outlet Fnnews (Through @Jukanlosreve) Estimates cite that Samsung Galaxy devices can see an increase in the price of about 30-40% due to these new tariffs. A “Emergency has been declared,” the report says (translated).
The impact of high tariffs is leading to an increase in smartphone prices for consumers, and the industry has predicted that the price of Samsung Galaxy will increase by 30–40% when a hit with a 25% tariff bomb.
If kicking in tariffs, Samsung will have no option but to comply, as the company has no way to produce its equipment in the US as it stands today. Right now, its production is mainly outside Vietnam and other areas.
The report correctly stated that it is true that the new Galaxy Z fold 7 and Flip 7 are around corner, North America is the largest market for premium smartphones. If the US applies these tariffs, it will make Samsung’s already expensive foldables more expensive.
