WhatsApp is Announced A laundry list of new features is rolling out with some features or currently, with the aim of increasing user experience in chat, calls and channels.
The most notable addition is a new “online” indicator for group chats, showing how many people are currently active in conversation without disclosing specific names. The feature makes it easy to see if members are available or if you are giving messages in a cool group.
For users overwhelmed by group information, WhatsApp has introduced adaptable alert settings. The new “informed” option allows users to select all information or only “highlights” – which includes @Merations, Answer and Messages from the contacts saved.
Encrypted chat platforms have also expanded the functionality of their events, which was limited to groups earlier. Users can now create an event in one-per-one conversations, “perhaps,” invet plus-on, and PIN events can add RSVP options.
Somewhere else, communication is made more interactive with tappable reactions. When someone reacts to the message, users can only tap to add existing emojis similar to platforms such as slacks or to that response to “+1”.
Video calling has received several improvements, including a more reliable connection system, designed to reduce freezing and dropped calls. WhatsApp says that HD has optimized its rooting system to detect the best connection path and better bandwidth to upgrade the quality of the HD rapidly on allowing internet speed.
Meanwhile, the iPhone users are set to get some platform-specific features, which includes the potential of the pink-to-zoom during the video call, and scanning directly from the attachment menu. As mentioned earlier, users can now also set WhatsApp as their default call and messaging app on the iPhone.
Finally, for channels, WhatsApp is rolling out tools to record and share long video clips for admins, generates unique QR code for easy channel sharing, and provides tapes of voice messages for followers that can not hear the audio updates.
Most of these features are now available in the latest stable construction of WhatsApp for both iPhone and Android, although some users may have to wait a few weeks with completion of the rollout.
