WhatsApp has abolished support for IOS 15.1 older iOS versions, removing the compatibility of chat platforms with multiple iPhone models in the process. The change began on 1 June, after delay from the original planned date of May 5 by Meta.
WhatsApp is no longer compatible with the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. The user with those devices will not be able to reach the encrypted chat service through the app until they upgrade their iPhone. Alternatively, users can go to web.whatsapp.com in their browser, but the experience will not be the same.
Users who intend to upgrade, can return their WhatsApp chat into the icloud, and restore their full chat and media history for a new, supported device using WhatsApp chat transfer features. Instructions are given on how to do in WhatsApp Aid center,
