WWDC 2025 is coming fast, the opening of Apple is set on Monday, June 9 at 10 am with the inaugural kenot set. Apple always uses the annual developer conference to unveil the latest versions of its software platforms, with iOS 26, iPados 26, Macos 26, Watchos 26, TVOS 26, and Visionos 26 to be announced next week next week. But an important question is: Will there be a hardware announcement?
There is no answer to that question. In power on Newspaper last weekend, BloombergMark Gurman said that Apple has no major new equipment to ship, so no hardware announcement can be made in WWDC 2025.
Apple may still surprise us on the hardware front, of course, and Gurman clearly did not explain the announcements of small devices.
WWDC is always focused on software, but in a few years the conference has hardware announcements. Recently, Apple unveiled the Vision Pro and updated three Mac models in WWDC 2023. In 2024, however, it was a software-key relationship.
The only rumor apple product that can be adjacent is an Airtag 2. Gurman had earlier said that he hoped that a new Airtag would be released in mid -2025, but he has not mentioned the accessory in a short time, so it is not clear that this time limit is correct. Even if an Airtag 2 is coming soon, there is no guarantee that it will be unveiled during the WWDC 2025 kenot, as Apple can only opt for the announcement to announce it with a press release.
Most of MACS have been updated from October 2024, the only exception is the high-end Mac Pro Desktop Tower. The current Mac Pro is equipped with M2 Ultra Chip of Apple, so in principle it can be updated with M3 Ultra Chip that started in Mac Studio this year, but it is not rumored. It is also unlikely that Apple will ever release M4 Ultra Chip, so the route of Mac Pro is not currently clear.
Similarly, the entire iPad lineup has been updated from May 2024, so the new iPad model is unlikely to be announced in WWDC 2025.
The next iPhone and Apple Watch model is expected to be launched in September, as usual, while the new Apple TV and Homepod are rumored to launch mini models in September or later this year. Airpods Pro 3 is also rumored to be launched at the end of this year, as soon as possible, while New Aripods Max is not expected to be launched by 2027.
A vision Pro2 with the M5 chip has again been rumored again, but it is not clear that it will launch in 2025 or 2026.
A new version of Apple’s Standelone Studio display with mini-LED backlighting is rumored, but is not expected to be launched by the end of 2025 or by the beginning of 2026. Apple’s high-end Pro Display XDR has not been updated as it was first launched in 2019, but it is not clear that a new version of the performance will be released.
Final, Apple’s rumored smart home hub has been postponed due to delay in Siri facilities, so do not expect that device in WWDC 2025.
This is where things stand. As mentioned, however, one surprise or two is always possible.
Kenote will be streamful on Apple’s website, in Apple TV app and on YouTube. On-demand playback will be available later.
