We are only a few days away from the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, where Apple plans to introduce new versions of iOS, iPados, Macos, TVOS, Watchos and Visionos. Visionos is not Apple’s most popular platform, but it is getting new features that will improve the vision Pro experience.
The next version of the visionos is actually described as “feature-packs”, but whatever is coming will be surprised because rumors usually focus on iOS. If you are expecting Visionos 3 to follow Visionos 2, you may be surprised when we get Visionos 26 instead. Apple is changing in such a way that this operating system is changing the name of the update, using “26” for everything coming in 2025. 26 September 2025 to September 2026 represents the Visionos season.
Update design
Apple used for visionos is inspiring a new look for iOS and Macos, but Apple plans to create something twicth in the way Visionos looks. The change is likely to be smaller in the scale, and we do not have much expansion, but at least some scenes are coming updates.
Fourth
Apple Vision Pro is going to add a new I-scrolling option, which will use the underlying eye tracking features. Vision Pro already supports navigating through OS by looking at something on the display and then using a hand gesture to “tap” it, so eye-based scrolling is a natural expansion of that functionality.
Apple will add scrolling to the underlying Apple apps, and it will provide an API that allows developers to integrate the capacity in the third party app.
Apple wise
Apple is planning to add new Apple Intelligence features to iOS, and it is possible that whatever is added will also expand into visionos. For example, an AI battery management facility for iOS 26 is rumored, and it matters a lot to do uniform function on the headset as it is very dependent on the battery.
At some point, Apple Wepplapple Intelligence, will introduce individual Siri features that were shown in WWDC 2024, and those abilities would almost certainly expand to the vision Pro. Apple Apps, working on deep siri integration for individual references, allowing siri to reach email, files, and more, and onscreen awareness, so Siri knows what you are looking at.
Game app
Apple plans to release a new cross-platform game app, and aims to pursue gaming on vision Pro with the company, the game app will probably be available on the headset. The Games app will include all content from the game section of the App Store, as well as with achievements and leadersboards such as Apple Arcade Content and Game Center features.
Simple use
In May, Apple announced the upcoming accessibility features, which will be added to Visionos 26. Visionos is going to get new vision accessibility options for users that are blind or have less vision. Zoom will allow users to see anything using the main vision pro camera, while live recognition in the voiceover will use on-device machine learning to describe the environment, find items and read documents.
Apple is developing a new API that will allow the approved apps to use the main camera to provide live, individual-to-individual aid for visual interpretation, a feature that will be useful for apps such as BE My Eyes.
For severe mobility disabled users, Visionos is receiving a new protocol that will support switch control for brain computer interfaces, a technique that allows users to control their devices with brain signals.
