After Bayana began last October, Google is starting rolling out the address bar option on the stable channel on Chrome Android.
Some users are being indicated about “how you can touch and catch to take the address bar down.” You can also check in settings for a new “address bar” menu.
Chrome Omnibox goes to the lower edge of your screen for better revolution. It is quite straight forward, and is definitely a bit very basic. Namely, Google has not re-arranged the overflow menu.
Options such as bookmarking, new tabs and history are still near the top. This three-dot menu should have been reversed to keep those controls near your thumb as part of a truly wider move. Other parts of the UI, like the new tab page, remain unchanged.
We are looking at this lower address bar option running on only two devices Chrome 135 In recent times. It is not yet widely rolled, but indicates that Google is ready to roll it out on Android. As a reminder, it came to Chrome for iOS in October 2023.
What is widely available today is a new form of Chrome settings. “You and Google” are still earlier, but “basics” is diluted in only four options: search engines, address bar, privacy and security, and security check.
Everything else is subject to “advanced”: tabs, homepages, new tab page cards, toolbar shortcuts, notifications, themes, accessibility, site settings, language, download and chrome.
