The echo of elysium does not start in the way you will expect to start a survival game. At least, you do not start physically where you will expect to be in a living game. Mostly, you will expect to drop into any type of forest, which has nothing, but you have trees and possibilities.
The possibilities remain part, but instead of trees, you enter the world of echoes of the alicium on a ship, floating in the sky, all are ready to move forward for you. Starting high in the sky, if nothing else, and it immediately sets its relationship with its relationship with your relationship with its relationship with the early hours of the most survival game with its relationship with the early hours of the lysium.
This is because it is very good. Your mileage may vary on how much you like it, but at least when I first saw a large blue sky, with the islands flying on the horizon and floating upwards through the wind, with the materials, I felt that this is a good way to kick a living game.
I also have an understanding that any game that starts you with a jetpack may not be as bad, but it is completely, when it is cooled, where problems with its settings are immediately visible.
As part of its inclusion at the June 2025 Steam Next Fest, I had to examine the demo for the echo of an allyceium in front of the release of the demo. I want to say from the top that I like a lot about the echo of the arysium, and I know it is just a piece of a game, when it arrives, it will be launched in the initial access.
It is not going to end, it is going to develop and change, and whatever problem I can have, it can go through the game in a year. In addition, the version I am playing in this demo is particularly focused on construction and crafting, so there is not much to search, gather resources and to do beyond the construction of my ship.
He said, as is nervous and exciting, as it is already to start its journey in the sky, this is when I began to feel pain points with the current pessing structure of the game, with a completely anchor on your ship.
You can’t go anywhere. At least, in the beginning, you can’t. There is no fuel in your ship, so you need to undergo a multistap process to make fuel, and then you can fly around, and still do not find anywhere. Your ship runs so slowly when you start that it also cannot move forward. And when you reach the islands, at least in this demo, there is not much.
Savings grace is the fact that you can do this bunny-hop with jetpacks, using it to achieve some distance and then cut it to reconstructing stamina while falling for a little time, and then activate your jetpack again. Executed correctly, you will never get out of stamina and travel long distances, as you should probably be capable without a ship. But at least it is faster than your ship.
There is an advantage of slowing down, which is the fact that the game is easy on the eyes. The art style reminds me of Phalconer, a game that I preferred to play primarily because it was good to fly around and take it to sites. I can still appreciate that in the Ecos of Alysium, but anywhere, even in the demo, just a glimpse of a glimpse, even to see a glimpse, what does it think it’s is tens or hundreds of hours, with a more full ship and everything else with the offering of the game.
It seems that I am complaining a lot, and maybe I am, but the truth is that I have not played anything in the echo of the arysium so far, I am very worried, or thinking that the game is bad. I think even with this version of the game, which focuses only on construction and crafting, it is too slow to start, and that developer Loric Games will need some time to create it and work on pacing issues.
I think it has a very strong foundation and already a very good game, to be clear, a strong setting and a good art style. At an ideological level, I appreciate that you are anchor on your ship and your experience in the game almost completely depends on how much time you give to make your ship exactly the way you want.
Everything makes your ship, or (eventually) funnel in making ships, how do you really want them. It is better to have a connection immediately from the basis of your operation, and I realized that I am busy working to play for a long time to build my ship immediately, rather than find more questions or many quests. It is not that there is a lot in this demo, or anyone I saw, but my time with the demo was looped forever within its initial hours.
I killed many insects that softened my progress and started my game again, which did not always cure them, freeze a couple, and a tough accident goes back to my desktop. Things like enemies and resources are clipping into the ground on the islands, my ship is clipping at the bottom of an island, which meant that I could not reach it when I jumped it (I could not even pilot it). Location-based text that did not disappear from the middle of the screen, well after leaving the place; These were all issues that took place at least twice, but nothing bothered me a lot.
This is an early access title, it’s not going to be right, and when I saw all these issues, they were not ruining the gameplay sessions, when I was constantly happening in the demo.
If you prefer MMO survival crafting games and little shipbuilding, it is worth your time to check the demo when available, but for now, the sky is the only limit for the echo of the sky arysium, which is a blessing and a curse. Hopefully, one day it is just a blessing.
