Apple Extended today Messages through satellite and my satellite facilities for mexico find me, which allows iPhone users to take advantage of globalstar satellites for communication in Mexico when cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity options are unavailable.
To use satellite connectivity in messages and Myfind Myfind in Mexico, is required with satellite capabilities, a liphoneion 14 or later, as iOS 18.4 or later. The person receiving the IOS 18 or after the IOS 18 or later requires iOS, while the SMS messages require iOS 17.6 or later or a non-apple device.
With messages via satellite, IMessages and SMS messages can be sent using a satellite connection, while location information can also be updated to the Myfind MY app using satellite connectivity. Mexico had an emergency SOS through the first satellite, so the new abilities are already expanded.
With emergency SOS through satellite, using messages and myfind myf without Wi-Fi or cellular will need to keep their iphones up to the sky to establish a connection to users. It becomes easier to connect open places without any tree or buildings, and the messages faster to send and receive. Emoji and tapback reactions are supported, but pictures, videos, audio messages, stickers and group messages do not work on satellites.
The option to use satellite connectivity for messages will be automatically displayed when Wi-Fi and cellular connections are not available, and users will be able to tap to connect by following Apple’s instructions.
The message through the satellite is now available in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The functionality continues for free for all ophone to users with a compatible device.
