Daily Listen offers a concise audio summary of around five minutes, based on your expressed search interests.

Google is testing an experimental AI feature that creates a personalized podcast using your search and Discover feed history. According to 9to5Google, this Daily Listen feature is being rolled out through Google’s Search Labs for Android and iOS users in the United States. It functions similarly to the audio overview feature in Google’s NotebookLM project.

Daily Listen analyzes search data and Discover feed interactions to determine which news articles might interest you the most. It then summarizes those stories and topics into an audio overview of about five minutes. Along with the audio, the feature provides a text transcript and an audio scrubber for ease of use.

Search Labs users who try this experiment will find the Daily Listen option in a personalized widget carousel, located beneath the search bar in the Google app. At the bottom of the audio player, there’s a “Related Stories” tab that matches the content within the overview. This feature allows users to like or dislike individual stories with thumbs up/down and explore new topics based on their interests.

Currently, there’s no word on when or if this will launch to the general public. But since this is similar to how Search Labs tested Google’s AI Search Overview before its wider release last year, Daily Listen could well become a feature proper, ideally with an easier way to opt out compared to the AI Overview.
