When US President Donald Trump imposed 145 percent tariffs on goods imported from China, Apple CEO Tim Cook started working for a discount to Apple, which will reduce the cost of the iPhone.
As Washington PostCook made a phone call with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik last week, stating how tariffs would increase the price of iphone. He talked to senior White House officials about tariffs, and ensured that there is nothing negative in public about Trump’s policies that would offend Trump. For Trump’s opening, Cook also personally donated $ 1 million.
Cook’s efforts were paid, and last weekend, the Trump administration exempted the wholesale of tariffs planted on Chinese goods, exemption of Oramphone, Mac, Apple Watch, iPad and other electronics.
Apple’s tariff exemption may be temporary, however, after the announcement, Trump said that there was no tariff exception “and no one would” get off the hook “. Apple and other technical companies are “moving in a separate tariff bucket” as Trump and their administration, which are “taking a look in the national security tariff” employed in semiconductors and electronics supply chains.
Following, again with tariffs, Apple Stock has come under considerable fluctuations during the last few weeks. The stock was down as 20 percent, but after the discount it corrected some of its value.
During the earlier Trump administration, Cook was able to prevent Tariffs from impressing apple devices such as Theiphoneion and Apple Watch, with Trump explaining that the fees would give South Korean company Samsung an edge on Apple.
This time, Trump has claimed that they would not be pressured by companies to reduce tariffs. On Monday, however, he said he said “recently helped the tim cook,” a sign that Cook has one with Trump that can prevent apple from working hard by future tariffs.
Trump insisted that Apple may manufacture iphone and other products in the United States, but there are significant obstacles that prevent Apple from doing so, including construction factories, the cost of manufacturing factories, shortage of skilled laborers and the cost of paying American workers.
Apple has invested $ 500 billion in the United States, and is planning to build a private cloud compute server in a feature in Houston in partnership with Foxconn. The server is a very low volume product that is not facing a consumer, which makes them more possible to gather in America
