Satechi, known for the limit of its luggage for Apple products, came with a new series of onthego wireless charges recently which are perfect to bring on trips due to their compact size.
There are two models, one 3 -in -1 charger and a 2 -in -1 charger. The 3 -in -1 option has an iphone, an airpods charger and an Apple Watch Charging Puck for the QI2 charging surface. The 2 -in -1 model leaves the airpods charger, so it has the QI2 charging platform and the Apple Watch Charger. Depending on the airpods you have, you can charge them through QI2 or with the Apple Watch Charger anyway.
Each of the charging surfaces is slightly larger than the magsafe charger of each apple, with the same circular shape. A small band combines each one, and they pile up each other. The end result is a fold out multi-device charger that is a super portable. It is an inch and a half long when it is folded, and two and a half inch wide. The band connecting each charger feels strong and well attached, and I was not able to shake them when pulled them with force. I think they will grab decent with regular use over time.
Chargers are covered in a vegetarian leather content that seems to resist dust and is soft to touch, so it will not scratch your equipment. QI2 and Apple Watch Charger are flats, but the Apple Watch has a pop-up, so it can charge the flat or be raised for nightstand mode.
With the 3 -in -1 model, the AirPods Charger and the QI2 charger can be directly twisted with the Apple Watch Charger as a base, creating a stand that can grab a iphone directly, providing space to charge the Apple Watch. This orientation is useful for standby mode, but if you want to charge three devices at once you will have to turn the flat. In any orientation, it works well on a hotel nightstand or office desk.
The iphoneion charger is QI2, so it charges up to 15W, the original magsafe is similar to the charging speed. The iPhone 16 models support rapid 25W charging, so QI2 is a slow wireless charging speed. There are no third-party ofmagsafe the 2 charger on the market yet, so 25W charging is available only with a standalone magsafee charger from Apple.
The middle charger for airpods is the standard QE and is 5W, while the Apple Watch Charger provides fast charging for the compatible Apple Watch model. In the test, the QI2 Charger was able to charge my iPhone 16 Pro Max up to 41 percent in an hour, which starts from about two percent, which I expect from the 15W wireless chargers. Wireless charging speeds are variable due to heat restrictions, so the speed of charging can cause ups and downs if a iphone is heated or the room in which it is charged is hot. When using Satechi Charger, my iphone was heated, but not hot.
Satechi is selling chargers in three colors, including black, sand and desert roses. Each a match comes with a USB-C cable that is one meter long, but it does not include a USB-C power adapter, so you will need to supply your own. Satechi says that the charger requires a 36W power adapter on the minimum to charge the equipment at the maximum speed. With USB-C cable and charger, Satechi includes a slightly travel bag so that you can tuck the bent charger in a bag, backpack or suitcase.
Ground level
At $ 100, 3-in-in-1 onthego charger from Satechi is given a valid price for its compact size and its versatility. Its use can be twisted in many ways, and it provides four charging speeds overnight for a iphoneion, as well as fast charging for an apple watch. The price is competitive with the same travel charger from notable brands, as it is cheaper than Belkin’s $ 120 3 -in -1 travel charger and Mofi’s $ 150 3 -in -1 travel charger.
I want Satechi to include USB-C power adapters. The 36W charger that is required for this is slightly larger than the MacBook Air or iPad, so it cannot be a size that is in people’s hands.
Given how small it is, it is a great option for those who are looking for travel charger or to bring between work and home. The 2 -in -1 model does the same thing, but it seems worth spending an additional $ 20 for airpods charger and stand functionality until you want something more compact.
