Popularly known as Grand Theft Auto 6, GTA VI is undoubtedly one of the most awaited video games to date, just a few months away from its release. However, this hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about the upcoming game’s features. While nothing has been confirmed yet, including the release timeline and the second trailer, here’s everything we know about GTA 6 so far.
GTA 6 Release Date
Earlier this year, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, announced during its earnings call that the development of GTA 6 is currently on track and there are no major delays.
However, in a statement to gaming publication IGN, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick said, “There is always a risk of delays,” but they “feel very good” about the launch date. If everything goes as planned, Rockstar Games is expected to release GTA 6 this fall, with some sources suggesting the game could arrive as early as September. Based on Rockstar Games’ previous track record, we might see GTA 6 on PC as late as 2027 or 2028. Additionally, in a recent interview with GameIndustry.biz, a company representative confirmed that they are not interested in bringing GTA 6 to Game Pass on launch day.
GTA 6 Maps and Gameplay
The first GTA 6 trailer confirmed that parts of Vice City will feature in the game, but details about the main characters come from a 2022 leak, where an employee posted several videos showing an hour of GTA 6 footage. As it turns out, GTA 6 will feature a male lead named Jason and a female lead named Lucia, marking the first time in the video game series. Although not much is known about this duo, it seems they may share a Bonnie and Clyde-like relationship as they are seen committing crimes together.
In addition to iconic locations like Starfish Island in Vice City, we may also get a glimpse of parts of Florida’s Everglades. Recently, a report also hinted that Rockstar Games is in talks with some of the most popular Roblox, Fortnite, and GTA creators to bring “custom experiences” to GTA 6. If this is true, it could mean that we’ll see custom-made maps and gameplay experiences while playing online.
GTA 6’s Second Trailer
Rockstar Games uploaded the first official GTA 6 trailer in December last year, and since then, rumors have been swirling that we might soon get a second trailer. According to GTA VI O’Clock, which includes some of the most respected journalists and creators in the GTA community, the second trailer is expected to drop sometime in April. In a newsletter, GTA VI O’Clock hinted that this is because Rockstar typically starts promoting their games six months before launch.
GTA 6 Pricing
In a report titled ‘The State of Video Gaming in 2025,’ industry analyst Matthew Ball claimed that GTA 6 could surpass the $100 mark. However, since there has been no official confirmation from Rockstar Games, it’s advisable to take this information with a grain of salt.
