To deploy inapple intelligence features in China, Apple is working with Alibaba, and both companies have not yet received regulatory approval for AI products in China that Apple wants to debut. China’s Cyberspace Administration (CAC) should test and approve all AI models before rolling out AI services in China, and that is where the process has come to a standstill.
The CAC is delaying the approval approval due to the “growing political uncertainties” between the United States and China. Trump greatly increased tariffs on goods imported from China in April, and the fees reached 145 percent. Apple was exempted from some tariffs and later the tariff was stopped for 90 days, but the trade war has been increasing in recent times as the US and China have failed to reach a deal.

Chinese rules prevent Apple from using their AI technology for Aapple Intelligence, so Apple is planning to use models developed by Alibaba.
