Apple has stopped signing the ipados 17.7.7 update that was released earlier this week, which was for equipment unable to run the versions of iPados 18, which means that users would not be able to install updates, even if they are available in software updates. The affected devices include the sixth generation iPad, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and the second generation 12.9-inch IPIPAD Pro.
The company has not provided a reason to cancel the update, but there are several reports from those users to the macromors forum, reddit, and other places that have experienced issues logging in the apps after updating their equipment.
From Macromers Forum Member Mrsmith1,
I have an iPad 6th generation. After the latest update 17.7.7, I am having problems with something, but not all apps. Wikipedia, Duck Duck Go, Letterbox and others. Every time I open them, this is the first time and I have to sign up or visit the app. I can’t do anything about it. any ideas?
From Reddit user National_case748,
Since updating my iPad in iPados 17.7.7 (Buily 21h433), all apps (such as YouTube, x, etc.) log in to me every time I close them. This issue did not happen before the update.
I have already tried everyone:
- It was investigated that the screen time and restrictions are disabled.
- Verify that no profile or MDM configuration has been established.
- Ensured that safari cookies and passwords are able to save.
- A full reset performed all settings.
- Finally, I reset a complete factory and set the iPad as new (not from backup).
Even after all this, the problem persists. Every time I open an app, it behaves as if it was freshly installed and tells me to log in again.
Apple has prevented users from updating the iPados 17.7.7 for the time to address these issues and will release a new update once fixed.
